Saugatuck Falls Natural Area in Connecticut is one of the many hidden gems scattered throughout the state. Every time we search online for another hiking spot it seems a new one pops up! This neat and beautiful area is located right across the street from John Read Middle School in Redding, CT. We used that parking lot as the launch point when we explored during a weekend.
If you head into the natural area and go north on the first trail (Falls Trail) you come across, you will be pleasantly surprised to encounter a waterfall once you get about a half mile to a mile into the trail. There are quite a few different paths to explore so make sure you print off a trail map before you head out!
