Hey all! Since I am still out of commission from my surgery I thought it would be fun to make a short compilation of some hiking footage with our greyhound Blaze. He just turned 8 years old this year and he is still full of his puppy energy. Blaze is a retired racer and used to race down in Florida. The poor guy actually broke one of his legs during a race which ended his career in racing. Luckily for him, his personality probably saved his life. Usually with an injury like that, the dog is no longer considered useful to their owners and are put down. Blaze is such a loving and happy dog they fixed him up and Deanna rescued him from a local greyhound rescue group.
I must say after living with him for 3 years now myself, I can say I love greyhounds. Each of them have their own unique personalities, but there are certain aspects you can see within the breed. If you are looking for a greyhound yourself, PLEASE first look at any local greyhound rescue groups/foundations before going to any pet store. There are so many beautiful and loving dogs out there just waiting to come home with you.
He is a great pet (more so a family member) that REALLY enjoys his sleep time…which is probably 75-80% of the day haha. Greyhounds don’t require a ton of exercise, but as you can see does love going on our weekend adventures. We just take the guy out on a couple walks a day and that seems to satisfy his craving for the outdoors most days. If you want to learn more about greyhounds or have questions on how to get in touch with a rescue group let us know! We would love to help you find a new loving member of your family. 🙂
Adventure On!
