Ocala North RV Park Campground Review
Ocala North RV Park just north of Ocala, Florida was a giant sigh of relief getting back into a more nature centric campground.
After traveling through central Florida, we were getting a bit tired of being crammed into smaller RV parks full of amenities but lacking character. Ocala North brought us back to what we envisioned camping to be, with the addition of nice amenities and nice concrete pads.

Amenities:
Located just off I75, Ocala North RV Park is a conveniently located campground with quite a few amenities to make you feel at home during your stay.
Whether you want a back in site, a pull thru site, or plan on making this your home for quite a while, this park has a place for you. When we first arrived on a Saturday, a fellow RVer drove by on his golf cart suggested we go pick up some ice cream (for a small $2) at the clubhouse. So of course I couldn’t turn that down! 🙂
There is also a nice little dog park to let your dog off leash and stretch its legs, along with shuffleboard, a swimming pool, horse shoes, place to fill up your propane, and a dump station in case you are coming in from a location without sewer.
Discounts:
Good Sams is also good at this particular park and they do offer a military discount as well. Also like many RV parks, you do get discounts if staying for a week, or a month.

Noise Level:
Quiet and peaceful. If you try hard enough, you might be able to hear the highway noise off in the distance. While trying to sleep however, we had no issue getting a nice and quiet peaceful rest while staying at this campground.
Dog Friendly?
This park is dog friendly, at least Blaze enjoyed his stay here. There are some breed restrictions in place though, so do be careful to read Ocala North RV Park’s policy before heading this way if you want to bring your pups.
Big Rig Friendly?
I would say this park is very big rig friendly since most of the RVs at this park were larger than our 30ft 5th wheel. They have some pull thrus for your convenience. Our spot was a bit tricky to get into, but it just took us a couple tries to get in at the proper angle.
Cell Signal and Wifi:
If you are digital nomads like we are, cell signal is crucial. AT&T was a great performer at this park having great download and upload speeds. Verizon was kind of iffy, but it might be ok for lower data intensive tasks.
The do have Wifi at Ocala North RV Park as well, but it is really meant for social media checkins, not streaming. The speeds are reflective of that intention.
Things to Do in the Area:
Although our pups (Blaze) managed to hurt his foot IMMEDIATELY upon arrival at Payne’s Prairie Preserve State Park, it was one of our main reasons for picking Ocala North RV Park It is extremely beautiful and this is horse country after all, so be prepared to see magnificent horses throughout there area.
You pretty much have your choice of going north or south for groceries, but there are also some nearby places to grab a bit if you are interested!
