LaVern M Johnson Park Campground Review

LaVern M Johnson Park near Lyons, CO was a terrific find that we are so happy we found! It has spectacular views all around with a BEAUTIFUL creek flowing through offering more than enough activities to keep yourselves satisfied!

Amenities at LaVern M Johnson Park

The amenities at LaVern M Johnson Park really JUST start at having full-hookups at each of the sites. From there you have a brand new bathhouse, incredible scenery, a creek to go take a dip into, and probably the coolest playground your kids could ever want.

Discounts:

No Discounts at Lavern M Johnson Park, but the prices are fairly reasonable for the surrounding area and the amenities you get along with your stay.

Noise Level:

This really depends on your neighbors. During our stay we had awesome neighbors and we could hear the creek flowing in the background as we slept. It really was heavenly.

Dog Friendly at LaVern M Johnson Park?

Colorado has probably been THE most dog friendly state we have visited thus far. Half of the restaurants seem to be dog friendly and I haven’t seen any restrictions on breeds at the places we have stayed thus far (granted greyhounds are never an issue). No size restrictions, no nothing here at LaVern M Johnson Park. Just keep the dog on a leash like a considerate person, and all will be fine. 🙂

Big Rig Friendly?

The campground itself is a bit tight for the bigger rigs, BUT we saw large 5th wheels and Class As spending the week here. So don’t let the parking lot style campground concern you.

Cell Signal and Wifi:

Both AT&T and Verizon worked just fine in this area and allowed us to work without issues. Being right next to Lyons, CO gave us the peace of mind that our signal was going to work out just fine.

Things to Do in the Area:

Although I’m sure there are a TON of things to do along this side of the Rocky Mountains, we mainly used this park as a home base to go explore Rocky Mountain National Park. It is only about a half hour drive east of Estes Park, so not horrible commuting distance for those adventures.

The local town of Lyons is pretty sweet with a bunch of different places to grab some food and just embrace the beautiful nature surrounding this small town.
