The Ridgefield Rail Trail might not be known to anyone outside of Ridgefield, CT as there really isn’t a lot of parking besides parking somewhere in the town and then jumping to the trail head. However, if you live near the area I definitely recommend this hike. If you look around Ridgefield you will notice different signs displaying the historical significance of that particular area. As the name suggests, this trail used to be a railroad connecting Ridgefield back down to the main train line that currently flows between Danbury and Norwalk Connecticut.
We’ve hiked this trail a few times and I would recommend testing it out in either the Fall or Spring. There is beautiful vegetation throughout and it is some great exercise.
Adventure On!
