This hike is one of our favorites along the Hudson Valley in New York and not just because we happened to get engaged at the top :). We’ve hiked this trail in the spring, summer, and the fall. Each time we hike we get to see things in a slightly different perspective.
In early spring the snow has mostly melted and all the trees have yet to bloom. During this season you can see much further through the trees without all the greenery blocking your view. In the summer there is green in every direction, it is so beautiful seeing the wilderness so alive. In the fall the colors will astound you with the mixes of green, yellow, red, and so many shades of those!
I can’t say I have a favorite, but when you can get there early enough you might catch some of the lookouts by yourself and really breathe it all in. Hope you get out there and enjoy it as we did!
Adventure On!
