Exploring Brown County State Park in Indiana
“THE LITTLE SMOKIES”
Brown County State Park is one of THE coolest/largest state parks in the state of Indiana. Nicknamed ‘The Little Smokies” it offers panoramic views of the surrounding forested area, as well as some pretty lengthy hiking and biking trails. Do watch out for horse droppings though, even horses are allowed on some of these trails!

Many of you probably already know this, but I grew up in the state of Indiana and this is probably a close 2nd behind Turkey Run State Park as my favorite. I’ve went tent camping many times at this state park and have had countless adventures and memories with friends.
One of my favorite things to do besides hiking is to just grab a lunch or a snack and just sit on one of the hillsides gazing over the nearby forested areas and just drift off into a dream world. On a clear day you can see for miles and what a perfect place to take that first date. 😉
BEAUTIFUL SUNSET
If you stick around long enough towards the evening (or if you are camping for the night) definitely head back to one of the vistas and enjoy a fantastic sunset. You will be glad you did.
