Campground Review of River Cities RV Park in Louisiana

River Cities RV Park near Alexandria, Louisiana is a great place for an overnight stay as you are exploring the area or just passing through! If you can deal with a little interstate noise, this is a gated RV park complete with a clean bathhouse and laundry facility.

Amenities with River Cities RV Park:

River Cities RV Park isn’t jam packed with amenities but it has a lot of the essentials that most folks are looking for when staying for 1-2 nights. It has a men’s and women’s shower room. Each are individual rooms complete with a shower, toilet, and vanity.

The laundry room looked fairly new although we didn’t need to do laundry on that particular week. No swimming pool or anything fancy like that, but they do have a designated pet area towards the back of the RV park. If you need to take your dog for a walk, the perimeter of the campground is all grass, just be sure to pick up after them.

All the sites are pull through complete with 50/30/20 amp, water, and sewer aka full hookups.

Discounts:

None that I am aware of besides discounts on weekly/monthly rates.

Noise Level:

When we first got to River Cities RV Park, we parked right between two rigs since that is the spot we reserved and the noise level was actually a bit louder than when one of them moved. My only thought to that logic is that somehow the noise from the interstate bounced in between our rigs resonating the sound. Seemed to be a bit better when nothing was between us and the interstate oddly enough.

Dog Friendly at River Cities RV Park?

Yes, I didn’t see any issues with dogs at this location. We saw quite a few and Blaze had many saying hello to him from a distance.

Big Rig Friendly?

Most definitely. Our rig is about 30 feet long and we could fit the truck in front of it with room to spare behind the rig and in front of the truck.

Cell Signal and Wifi:

If you are digital nomads like we are, cell signal is crucial. Both AT&T and Verizon would be perfect to work off of in this location if you need to. We set up camp here for a week and didn’t have a single issue with speeds as we worked remotely.

Things to Do in the Area:

Alexandria is the nearest city where you can refill your groceries, gas, and get any other essentials that you need. There is also a nice movie theater called the Grand Alexandria where we were able to watch Captain Marvel. END GAME COMES OUT THIS WEEK!

There are also quite a few hiking trails, fishing, and other activities usually found in a national forest. Kisatchie National Forest is very beautiful and we went out for a couple hikes while visiting the area.

Valentine Lake Recreation Complex is where we ended up hiking and really enjoyed this beautiful part of the country!
