Campground Review of Badger Park
Hey all! Time for another campground review of Badger Park located in Peshtigo, Wisconsin. This campground is a Passport America member which saved us a ton of money during our stay. If I recall correctly, our weekly stay with partial hookups cost us just over $100!
During our stay at Badger Park, we quite honestly didn’t have neighbors for most of the time. This park seems to be mostly utilized during the weekends even though it is smack dab in the middle of Peshtigo, Wisconsin. The sites we saw were fairly large and we just so happened to get a site right next to the cabins for rent.
We were quite lucky in our spot, because we just happened to be right next to an elementary school. Ok, well that wasn’t the lucky part. The lucky part of being next to this particular elementary school is the fact we got there a WEEK before school started. Our stay was fairly quiet, but I imagine the next week would have been a totally different story.
INTERNET/WIFI
There definitely wasn’t any campground wifi located here, but we could have used either AT&T or Verizon for our work. Neither signal was super strong, but it was strong enough that the weBoost didn’t really help boost the signal at all. I’m sure being in a small town helped locate us slightly closer to the nearby cell towers though. 🙂
THINGS TO DO
Within Badger Park Itself:
Before even leaving the park itself you can enjoy some hiking trails as well as the beautiful neighboring lake! Blaze got pretty spoiled on his lunch and evening walks as we got to get out and enjoy some nature without having to go far at all. It is not quite up to state park standards, but it was still a beautiful little area to explore.
Veteran’s Memorial Park in Menominee, MI
Just across the state border there is a nice little area called Veteran’s Memorial Park. There you have a great view of Lake Michigan, and more than likely a beach to yourselves if you time it right!
Red Arrow Park & Lighthouse Ann Harbor Park
If you want to get a tad more exercise than just stopping by a beach, Red Arrow Park offers a short hiking trail that goes along the shoreline with gorgeous views of some wetlands as well.
The Lighthouse Ann Harbor Park area is again within the state of Michigan, but you will be right on the border so it is totally worth hopping over to visit!
Peshtigo Fire Museum
From the outside, the Peshtigo Fire Museum doesn’t look very big, but you will be pleasantly surprised when you walk in the doors. This place is rich with historic artifacts from the ridiculously large fire that passed through the area as well as some older tools and equipment used back in the day. Some of these items are in surprisingly great condition and it really helps you picture how things used to be before the great fire.

We went into a bit more detail of how we enjoyed our stay in the video located at the top of this blog post if you are interested in learning more about Badger Park. It really is a unique area of Wisconsin with a ton to see and do and we think this is a great little park to set up home base for your exploring.
