Hello all!
I realize this isn’t a typical post on an adventure vlog, but every once and a while we like to do a quick review on an item that we find useful. So if you tune into our videos solely to catch up on the adventures or learn more about a certain trail, I certainly won’t be insulted if you move on from this post. This is not a paid promotion, just another product I’ve enjoyed and think you may enjoy as well. 🙂
If you are like me and pretty much survive off of your morning cup(s) of coffee, this product might be something you could look into. I heard quite a few people talking about the Aeropress Coffee Maker but never really looked into it because I already had a Mr. Coffee that made 12 cups of coffee at a time. As a matter of fact, I still mainly use my Mr. Coffee when we are at the house because I can make one large pot at a time and put the rest in the fridge to use throughout the week.
I didn’t purchase the Aeropress Coffee Maker to replace our electric coffee maker in the house, but I was looking for a very compact coffee maker to put in our 21ft travel trailer. The previous owner of the RV was very kind and generous giving us his compact Keurig Coffee Maker that he usually took along with him on his journeys. This is a great item to have if you have room for it, but Deanna and I try to keep things to the bare essentials to save storage in our small but livable RV.
The Aeropress was a perfect fit for our RV due to its size and also another feature some people may not think of. One of the greatest advantages is that it doesn’t use any electricity! That is right, this in your boondocking buddy coffee maker if you are trying to be conservative on those 12 volt batteries of yours. It may not make a difference if you have a large RV with 1000 watts of solar and 400 amp hours of lithium ion batteries, but it does to us. 🙂
One of the other perks of this coffee maker is how quick and easy to use it is. Granted, you still have to find another source to heat up your water, it really doesn’t take THAT much longer than any other coffee maker. I find it quick and easy to clean up, as I demonstrated in the video. If you have compost at home, it makes it really to launch those coffee grinds into a container to bring back and make all the worms happy.
How is the taste factor you may ask? I actually prefer the taste the Aeropress creates more so than the Mr. Coffee I have at home. I’m not sure of the science behind it all, but it seems to take the edgy bitterness away to a smoother finish. I get great tasting coffee that also has that good morning kick to get me going. You can search online for reviews and through Amazon and this thing really is a hit. Most people don’t even buy this for a RV or camping gadget, but as their main coffee maker! If I hadn’t found the art of being lazy by refrigerating left over coffee, I would probably be in that boat right with them.
As you may have guessed, I give this coffee maker two thumbs up! It is our go-to coffee maker and it seems like it will last a life time! If you enjoyed this review or the video, feel free to share it with others that may be considering this coffee maker. It is a great product and makes some amazing coffee!
