6 Fun Things to Do at Walt Disney World’s Epcot

Here are 6 fun things to do at Walt Disney World’s Epcot in no particular order. This was my VERY first trip ever to Disney World and I’m glad we picked Epcot as my park to visit! Enjoy your time at Disney!

 –EPISODE 1 of 3–

FUN ADVENTURE #1 (SPACESHIP EARTH):

If you are not aware, Spaceship Earth is within that iconic sphere you see in pretty much every picture of Walt Disney World’s Epcot. This place is beyond magical from the history behind it and the ride itself heading through time!

This was my very first ride at Walt Disney World and I will always remember it. No, this isn’t a roller coaster, but it does show you some pretty cool technological advances, we as the human race, have produced over time!

FAST PASS or NO: We got to the park as SOON as it opened and didn’t waste much time getting on this ride. We didn’t use a fast pass for this particular ride.

FUN ADVENTURE #2 (SOARIN’ AROUND THE WORLD):

Soarin’ Around The World is about as sweet as it sounds. Not only does this ride move you from side to side and front to back as it guides you around the entire globe, but it literally LIFTS off. Disney does warn you to be aware if you are afraid of heights before hopping on this fantastic ride.

The ride shoots surprises at you through every scene of the adventure whether that be visually or…well I guess it wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you now would it!?

FAST PASS or NO: Definitely use fast pass for this ride if you want to optimize your experience at Epcot

FUN ADVENTURE #3 (LIVING WITH THE LAND):

Living With the Land I feel is a grossly underrated ride. Right after we hopped off of Soarin’ we ran over to Living With the Land with our much anticipated fast passes.

Unfortunately we pretty much wasted a fast pass on this ride as the normal line was very short and we literally hopped directly on the ride once we got there. NO time for an intro or anything in the video above, but that is just the way it goes sometimes!

FAST PASS or NO: I wouldn’t use a fast pass on this ride as we could have just waited 5 more minutes to hop on without it.

This ride however is really awesome showing you through the vastly different vegetation around the globe and it is super informative for all you fellow nerds out there!

FUN ADVENTURE #4 (TEST TRACK):

We were able to hit up all these fun adventures in just one day! If you plan your trip ahead of time and strategically use those fast passes, you could probably even hit up more of the rides than we did EASILY.

This was hands down my favorite ride at Epcot. Soarin’ was probably a fairly close second, but I absolutely loved the ride and it was totally worth the wait.

On this ride you build your own car to test its various capabilities on the provided test track. Not only do you build it virtually, but you hop in the thing to see how it does! Granted, other folks with different cars are in the same car as you so the car doesn’t behave specifically to your settings. STILL FREAKING AWESOME.

FAST PASS or NO: YES, OH MY GOSH YES. This is one of the more popular rides at Epcot and we had to wait for quite a while even in the Fast Pass line. Don’t even debate it if folks are lined up outside, it is a long queue.

 — EPISODE 3 of 3–

FUN ADVENTURE #5 (THE SEAS WITH NEMO AND FRIENDS):

These are not the only cool rides at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, but just the ones we were able to hit up while visiting. Definitely feel free to better utilize those fast passes and hit up more fun rides!

The Seas with Nemo and Friends is really one of those rides where you have had to see the movie to really get into it. Luckily for us, we both enjoyed the movie and had fun reliving it through a short 5-10 minute ride.

You get to ride around in some pretty unique seashells that spin as needed to show you all the fascinating sea creatures along this path! No worries, this is not a vomit comet ride that spins so quickly that you wish that foot long chili cheese dog waited for later.

FAST PASS or NO: For us this was not needed at all. There was a short line, but we hopped on within 5-10 minutes after our arrival.

FUN ADVENTURE #6 (WORLD SHOWCASE):

Looking to get some tasty snack or treat along your adventures in Epcot? I HIGHLY suggest trying to hold those gut grumbles off until you make your way over to the World Showcase.

No, this isn’t one particular ride, but it is an amazing place to see bits and pieces of the world all within walking distance!

Throughout the World Showcase you can check out food, culture, architecture, and even buy specific souvenirs from each individual country. We passed on the souvenirs and focused our money on the super delicious food and beverages they have scattered throughout this portion of the park.

There are some rides as well within the World Showcase you can hit up. The only ‘ride’ we went on while within the World Showcase was a neat 360 degree video within Canada. This really is pretty sweet and definitely recommend it if you want some fantastic views without the cold!
